Unlike some introduced species the Red-whiskered Bulbul (introduced into Sydney in the 1880s) has not spread rapidly into other areas.

If someone in Melbourne were hoping to photograph one there is apparently a small population in South Yarra (Pizzey).

Vik: I haven't heard of any being seen in South Yarra for years. There was a report of one in Eltham early in 2009 by Rohan Clarke on Birdline Victoria.
